When you need to remove software that is no longer needed from your computer, choosing the correct uninstallation method is important; improper uninstallation may leave unnecessary residual files;
This article introduces three common methods for uninstalling software in Windows.
Portable software can be directly deleted by removing the program or software directory without causing file residue;
Method 1: Uninstall via Settings
Right-click , click [Installed apps], select the application you want to remove and uninstall it;

Method 2: Uninstall via Control Panel
Use the shortcut + S to search for [Control Panel] and open it, then click [Uninstall a program];

Right-click the program you want to uninstall, and select [Uninstall] from the pop-up menu.
Method 3: Uninstall via uninstall.exe
Software usually comes with an uninstall.exe
program (the name may vary, e.g., unins000.exe
) for self-uninstallation; the two methods mentioned above actually also launch the software's uninstall.exe
program to achieve uninstallation;
uninstall.exe
is typically located in the software's installation directory. Running it will open the uninstallation wizard, and following the steps will complete the uninstallation.
You can right-click the software icon, click [Properties] → [Open file location] to find the software's installation directory;
